A few weeks ago Instagram rolled out their new business profiles. This was the same time everyone started freaking out about the algorithm changes and people are still questioning if they should switch to a business profile or keep their personal profile for their business accounts. Have no fear, we are here to tell you that YES you should switch to a business account on Instagram. Here’s why:
It’s Easier to Connect
When you change to an Instagram business profile you get a button on your profile that says contact. When potential customers click on this button they get the option to email you, call you or get directions to your location. People like an easy button and it doesn’t get easier than this.
You Get Analytics
I love analytics. I love looking at the date and using it to make my social media and sites better. If you switch to an Instagram business profile, you get analytics. You can see who your followers are, where they are from and when they are online. You can also see how many impression you have made, what your engagement is overall and per post, what your top posts are and so much more. This is valuable information that you NEED to create better content. Content that will lead to better engagement and sales.
You’re a Business, So Act Like One
I know it’s scary switching over to a business profile on your social media accounts. Especially with the ebb and flow of algorithms. However, you ARE a business and you need to act like one. Instead of using a personal profile because we think it may get us seen more, business owners need to find better ways to work within the algorithms and rock our social media while acting like real businesses. I’d even go a step further and tell you to ditch your personal profile, and embrace your business profile. Let your customers see more than just what you’re selling; let them see and know you too. Once they know you, they’ll learn to trust you, and then they will be loyal to you.
So are you ready to switch to a business profile on Instagram? Here’s a great video from Facebook that shows you how you can set up your Instagram business profile. So go and do and rock it like we know you can.
